Winter 1967 Overnight severe E'ly gales produced a storm-surge into the bay bringing glacier ice onshore. But for the six feet of compact snow , eventually washed away, the damage would have been far more severe. Even so the theodolite shed, met screens are gone, snow gauge and aerial are gone! |
